On Wednesday October 8, 2025, Rex Alfred Cammann was called from his earthly life to his Lord at age 72. He was loved by many and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Rex was born May 18, 1953 in Kearny, NJ to Douglas and Martha (Kase) Cammann. His family moved to West Hurley, NY and then to Raleigh, NC in 1965 to finally settle in Fuquay-Varina, NC. He was a graduate of Sanderson High School, Wake Tech and ECPI. Rex had employment with Sylvania, IBM, First Citizen's Bank, CDI and Time Warner Cable.

Rex married his love Pauline Scott on July 20, 1974 and had a daughter Martha Ann. He is survived by his wife Pauline Cammann, daughter Martha Ann Shindledecker and son-n-law Jeremy Shindledecker, along with 2 grandchildren, Kayla and Elizabeth, his brother, Douglas F. Cammann and sister-in-law, Lydia Sue Cammann and many cousins.

Rex loved spending time with his family and friends but had many activities he enjoyed as well. He was on the audio/visual board for both Saint Andrews and First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh where he recorded services and worked weddings alongside his daughter, Martha Ann. He loved to sing in the Chancel Choir and did so with his brother Douglas at FPC. He enjoyed hiking part of the Appalachian Trail with an old friend. He was on the RSA swim team for many years. He loved cycling and attended many bike rallies. He also did several century rides as well. He was also on a bowling team for many years along side his wife Pauline.

A graveside service will be held at Raleigh's Montlawn Cemetery on Friday October 17, 2025 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial gifts to be given to the following organizations who helped in aiding Rex during his last years:

Transitions Lifecare of Raleigh; Healthwell Foundation, Germantown, MD; Amedisys Hospice Care of Garner; Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church of Raleigh; or First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh.
