Obituary

APEX

Rex Wallace Honeycutt, 66, of Apex, died peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2020 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.  He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina to the late Otis and Barbara Honeycutt.  He was an independent trucker for over 27 years.  Rex loved hunting, fishing and trips to the coast with his wife.  He was most recently a member of McCuller's Community Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir and with the quartet.  He also served the Lord with the NC Baptist Men.

Rex is survived by his loving wife, Arline, and three children:  Anne Bollman and husband Bill; Brandon Honeycutt and wife Erin; and Robin Honeycutt.  He was a loving "granddaddy" to Cameron, Tyler, Kieran, Madison and Karalyna.  Rex is also survived by his two brothers, Lin Honeycutt and wife Cindy and Jeff Honeycutt and wife Stephanie, as well as his cousin, Cynthia Harris and husband Buck, along with several nieces, nephews and many close friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Doreen.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced by the family.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
