Obituary of Rex Jones, Jr.

Rex (Buck) Jones, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 8, 2015.

Mr. Jones was born in Durham, NC and served in the Army Air Force in World War II. He lived in Raleigh, Charlotte, and Southern Pines NC before moving to GA. He enjoyed traveling and playing golf and was involved in churches where he lived. Most recently, he was a member at Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, GA.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Martha (Mike) Holt of Lilburn GA, two granddaughters, Laura (Matt) Durell of Boston MA, and Allison (Matt) Hines of Buford, GA; four great-grandchildren, Ben and Nina Durell and Rex and Jackson Hines; nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Ann Jones Gattis and his wife of 67 years, Mary Emma Farmer Jones.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, November 13 at Montlawn Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service.
