Richard Carroll Altman Sr., 83, passed away peacefully and made his trip to Heaven on Saturday, July 15, with his daughter and son by his side. A native of Harnett & Wake County.  He was the son of the late Paul and Hilda Altman.  Richard was a retired butcher for A&P Grocery Store for 38yrs and continued working another 12 years as the butcher at Food Lion.

He enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with his kids, good food, calling his granddaughter after every Carolina Hurricanes game to discuss the results and he loved feeding the wildlife that would show up in his yard, birds, squirrels, rabbits and deer. He was also the wisest man you will ever meet.

He is survived by his daughter Melanie Altman-Airington and husband Christopher Wayne, his son Richard C. Altman Jr. and wife Lori, Grand Daughter Brianna Blair Airington
