Obituary

Richard C. Jeffreys went to his heavenly home on January 10, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents Margaret and Clarence Jeffreys. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Davis Jeffreys, with whom he celebrated over 47 years of marriage. Richard graduated in 1968 from Broughton High School, and after attending nursing school at Sand Hills Community College, graduated from N.C. Wesleyan. As an RN, Richard retired after 41 years with the NC Department of Corrections. He spent numerous hours working in his garden, travelling the world with Susan, and will be remembered for taking pictures of his family, playing with his grandkids, exploring with his dog Ollie, and cheering for his beloved Wolfpack.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his children Lucinda Wilmore (Randy), Michael Jeffreys (Nicole), and Timothy Jeffreys (Stacie). He was the proud Papa to Taylor and Ryan Wilmore, Addie and Jude Jeffreys, and Baby Boy Jeffreys who is due to arrive any day. He is also survived by his brothers Jimmy Jeffreys (Lois), Grady Jeffreys (Debbie), and his sisters Linda Carpenter (Larry) and Jane Young (Sammy) with multiple nieces and nephews.

As Richard attended the North Ridge Bible Chapel, his funeral will be held there on Saturday, January 13 beginning at 10:00am. As no visitation will be held prior to the service, a celebration of life with the family will be held at the Chapel immediately after the service and a private family burial will occur at the cemetery that afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Hilltop Home, PO Box 46749, Raleigh, NC 27620.
