Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Earl Hill of Raleigh, N.C. passed away at home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 after a five-year battle with cancer. He was born on September 12, 1952 in Morehead City, N.C. to the late Daniel Edward Hill, Sr. and Sara Frances Midgett Hill, and was raised in Swansboro, N.C.
Until he was disabled, Bobby was employed by Quality Lightning Protection for 25 years. He was an avid golfer until he was no longer able to play. He enjoyed beach music, old Westerns, and UNC basketball. Last year, he learned to fly-fish with his brother and played Pinehurst No. 2 golf course, a dream fulfilled by Fill Your Bucket List Foundation.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Louise Ellington Hill of Raleigh, brother Daniel Edward Hill, Jr. (Linda) of Jacksonville, N.C., a step-daughter, Amy Ellington Schaller (Adrian) of Wake Forest, N.C., two step-grandsons Adam Schaller and Austin Schaller of Wake Forest, N.C., sister-in-law, Betty Parson Ward (Tom) of Raleigh, N.C.
A visitation will be held at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, N.C. on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 pm. A scattering of his ashes will take place at a later date.
Appreciation is extended to his wonderful doctors, Dr. Daniel Mollin, Dr. Jeffrey Crane, and Dr. Stanley Wilkins for their compassionate care over the years, and to Transitions LifeCare of Wake County.
