Robert Edward Mangum, 81, died Wednesday at his residence. He was a retired electrician and a US Air Force veteran. Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Judith G. Mangum; sons, Sam Jackson of Garner, and Rick Jackson and wife Tina of Clayton; daughters, Judy Joyner and husband Joel of Louisburg, Valerie Galloway and husband Rick of Florida, Debra Rice and husband William of Garner, Tamara Brown and husband Marty of Wake Forest and April Fox and husband Jeff of Florida; brothers, Joseph Mangum of Wake Forest and Douglas Mangum of Cary; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 - 1:00 pm Friday prior to the service.
