Robert (Bobby) William Simpson, Sr., 82, departed this life June 30, 2019 after a courageous battle with kidney disease and dementia.  Bobby was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend to many. He retired as manager of Hills Inc. in Raleigh with more than 30 years of dedicated service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Warren Simpson, his parents Fairest McClellon Simpson and Gladys Honeycutt Simpson Coats.

He is survived by his sons, Robert (Bobby Jr.) William Simpson, Jr. and Farris Warren Simpson, one brother, James (Jimmy) E. Simpson of Wendell, one sister, Melanie D. Coats Blalock of Lillington, four grandchildren Cale and Clint, Jonathan and Jennifer Simpson; and 11 great- grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 5, 2019 from 12:30 - 1:40PM at Montlawn Funeral Home in Raleigh. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday July 5, 2019 at the Chapel at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC 27603
