CARY

Robert "Bob" Verdon, 80, returned to his heavenly home on September 7, 2020 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

Bob was born to the late Vincent Verdon and Thelma Marx in Binghamton, NY, on March 9, 1940. He retired from IBM and was an avid supporter of the VFW in Cary, NC. In his retirement, he was immersed in a community of family & friends that loved and enjoyed life with him.

Bob married Laura Eason Wimmer on September 8, 1995. Laura has 2 children, daughter Christi Wimmer of Cary, NC, son Jeffrey Wimmer and Layvoyne Toler of Smithfield, NC; along with her 2 grandchildren, Carmen and Kayden Wimmer of Smithfield, NC.

Bob is survived by his wife, Laura; his sons, Chris Verdon of Cary, NC, and Rob Verdon, wife Cindy of Apex, NC; his daughter Connie Haithcock & husband Stuart of Greenville, NC; his grandchildren Matthew Verdon, Amanda Stone, Wiley Haithcock, Callie McVicker, his great grandchildren Wiley James & Parker Haithcock, Michael & Camryn Stone and his sisters, Thelma Buddenhagen, Beverly Tedder and Ginger Parker. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 2 PM.
