Robert Lee Wall
Robert Lee Wall, 85, of Raleigh died Monday, June 23, 2008, at Rex Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. His passing was in the presence of many family members.
He was born October 6, 1922, son of the late Gary Lee and Mary Elizabeth Clark Wall in Knightdale, NC. He was a member of the Mason Hiram 40 Lodge and later a member of the local Amran chapter of the Shriners. He operated his own general contracting business for 62 years with experience from his fathers contracting firm.
Robert Lee never knew a stranger and as a result had many, many friends all over central and eastern North Carolina. His honesty, loyalty, and the utmost concern for quality workmanship kept him in high demand amongst his clients and customers. He had a gift for problem solving, creativity, and fixing the impossible when it came to building and construction. He was also a mentor and teacher to many of his former employees who are successful in the construction industry now. Most importantly, he was a proud, generous, and loving husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, and friend.
Mr. Wall is survived by his two daughters; Cheryl Wall Hill McLaughlin and her husband, John McLaughlin of Southern Pines, and their sons; Lee Marshall Hill and wife, Michelle, Matthew McLaughlin and Adam McLaughlin and his very recent bride, Amanda Dowtin McLaughlin; Barbara Wall Schuch and her husband, Mike, of Raleigh and their sons, Brandon Barham and Zachary Schuch; brother, Commodore Wall and wife Geri; sisters, Lawanna McLean and Bonnie Wall; brother-in-law, Royster Ogburn and Judy Temple; sister-in-law Olene Franks and husband, Caspian. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavoie Ogburn Wall and a sister, Margaret Wall Trent.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends following the service. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Marys Street, Suite 400, Raleigh, NC 27605.
