IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Paul
Wheeler
April 8, 1950 – July 25, 2024
On July 25, 2024, the world lost a remarkable individual with the passing of Robert Paul Wheeler. Robert was born in Brooklyn, New York on April, 8, 1950; to the late William Sr. and Ann Wheeler. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School and graduated in June 1968. He started his career with the New York City Department of Corrections in 1974 and rose through the ranks and became a Captain. He retired from his position in 1992.
His departure leaves a huge void in our lives, I'm sure it will leave a void on those who had the privilege of knowing him as well. He was funny, witty, a source of Jeopardy knowledge, a karate master, a lover of motorcycles, an epic one-liner, an amazing road trip driver, and best of all, an amazing father to his 3 children, Adrienne, Jason and Robert. He was a proud grandfather of 3, Jaelynn, Aubrey and Aaron. He shared a unique relationship with his "bonus brothers" Bruce and Kurt Leggard and his "brother"cousin Leroy Haynes Jr.
He was President of his motorcycle club "Zodiac Touring" out of Brooklyn, NY; where he was affectionately known as "Baby Boy". His passion for motorcycles led him on a journey through the 49 continental states. His stories and tales of being from NY will be missed, even though he told them 12,890 times. As we navigate the pain of his loss, we are also reminded of the amazing times spent with him.
His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply. Though his presence is no longer with us, his spirit will always be around! He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Adrienne Nicole (Mark) Johnson; sons, Jason Scott (Maureen) Wheeler, Robert Brendan Wheeler; brothers, William Wheeler; Ronald (Cecilia) Wheeler; Marion Walker Jr.; sister, Treena Jackson; grandchildren, Jaelynn Annette Johnson; Aubrey Madeleine and Aaron Jeremiah Wheeler; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
