Obituary of Roma Williams

Mrs. Roma Pait Williams, 81, of Knightdale, passed away peacefully at her home, Wednesday morning, August 15, 2012.

Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 - 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service.

A native of Bladen County, Roma was born April 15, 1931, the daughter of the late Carl Edwin and Buela White Pait. She worked for many years with Southern Bell in Lumberton and Raleigh. She was an active member of St. Paul's Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and their Women's Group.

Roma is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wilton H. Williams; son, Donald Williams (Mildred) of Oxford; granddaughter, Amber Kay Perry (Stephen); great granddaughter, Aubrey Kay Perry, all of Spring Hope; sister, Virginia Pait Hickman (Gene) of Buies Creek and her dear friend since first grade, Lucille Crowder of Garner as well as many nieces and nephews. Roma was preceded in death by her son, Edwin Heath Williams in 1977 as well as seven brothers and two sisters.

Wilton and his family wish to express their heartfelt appreciation and thanks for their wonderful neighbors, Theresa and Frank Davis, Peggy and Jimmy Taylor and Danielle Alexander and her parents and a special thanks to the staff and caregivers of Liberty Hospice who made Roma's final months so peaceful.
