Romana Marie Crane, age 85 of Raleigh NC passed away on Friday , September 27th at Duke University Hospital in Raleigh , North Carolina . Born on September 21, 1939 in Edmore Michigan,she was the firstborn of Alvin Andres and Ada (Tilmann) Andres , the eldest of six siblings. Following her high school graduation from Edmore she married Arvid Crane of Six Lakes Michigan and was his lifelong partner until his death in May of 2024. After working the Crane family farm for several years she and her family moved to Florida where she helped with various business ventures until moving into a motor home with Arvid and spent several years traveling throughout the united states for his job in the fiber-
optics field. After settling in North Carolina near her son and family she worked at a daycare for 4 years before retiring .

Romana is survived by her son Eric and wife DeeAnn, grandchildren Erika and Amanda, great grandchildren Hudson and Savannah. Siblings Paulette Green, Randy Andres and wife Margie, Al Andres and wife Deb, Mary Ann Spence and husband Marty, and Teresa Ouderkirk. And special friend and neighbor Brenda.  She is predeceased by her husband, grandson Dillon, brothers in law John Green and John Ouderkirk and sister in law Janet. Romana always had a high regard for all of her siblings and children and remained close to them all throughout the many moves that life took her . She dealt with a rare auto immune disease which led to many health issues including diminished eyesight and ultimately a fatal lung infection. She left her family with many memories of her happy self and will be greatly missed.
