Ronnie Gene Denton, 72, of Dunn, NC, passed peacefully at UNC Hospice House on Sunday December 17th. Ronnie was preceded in death by his Father Frank Denton, Mother Jean Hunt, and Brother Kenneth Denton.

Ronnie had a smile that was contagious and sometimes a little mischievous. He worked as an Auto Tech for most of his life. He followed in his father's footsteps and loved racing. He had many wins at the local Wake County Speedway, Raleigh NC, where he helped anyone he could. He was known for extensive knowledge of carburetors so much he probably could build them with his eyes closed.

He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He is Survived by his loving wife, Mary Denton; furry companion, Sadie; children, Summer VanRiper, Matthew Denton (Summer), April Honeycutt (Mike Creech), Sandi Creech (Sherrill); grandchildren, Racheal Pearce, Xavier VanRiper, Skyler VanRiper, Preston Denton, and Paisley Denton. He was also survived by two Brothers Dennis Hunt (Connie) and Allen Hunt (Joann) and many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.

The Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 27th, at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
