Obituary of Rosa Jones
Rosa Hunter Jones, 97, a lifetime resident of Raleigh, died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at her home. She endured thirty years of disability from a stroke. Marie Montague has spent fifteen years of dedicated service to make sure all of Rosa's needs were met. Marie was devoted to Rosa's greatest desire "To Stay Home'. Rosa was the last surviving member of her generation and the youngest of six children born to Jarvis Peace Hunter and Mary Simpkins Hunter. She was married sixty two years to the late John Lewis Jones. They both attended Cary High School. She received a business administration degree from Hoyle Business College and was employed by the Federal Government during World War II. Rosa retired from Stahl Rider after thirty five years as secretary and treasurer. Her years of loyalty to the company granted her a promotion to corporate secretary and treasurer of which she was most honored. Rosa was very proud to tell about her grandfather giving property to several in Wake County and one of the properties is now known as William Peace University. She shared many cherished memories with her now deceased siblings, Nelson Hunter, Jim Hunter, Jack Hunter, Alma Hunter and Beatrice Hunter Williams.
The family offers a special "Thank You" to all that helped with Rosa's needs.
