Obituary of Rose Rose
Rose A. DeRosa Rose, 88, of Wilson, passed away Thursday evening, February 12, 2015 at The Landings at Parkwood.
Born June 13, 1926 in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Luisa DeRosa. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Rose, and her brother, Frank DeRosa.
Rose is survived by her son, William J. Rose and his wife Barbara; daughter, Donna Rose and her partner Michelle; grandchildren, Maura Fitch; great-grandchild, Emersen Fitch; and sister-in-law, Virginia DeRosa.
Rose graduated from Christ Hospital with a degree as a Registered Nurse and held this position prior to her marriage. She traveled extensively early in her life with her husband, a Naval Aviator who was based in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Pensacola, Fl. Her husband was a War World II combat pilot who served in the Pacific Theater. Later in life Rose and her husband relocated to Miami, FL and lived there for the next 25 years. After Miami they moved north to Palm City, FL and spent their Golden Years among friends in a golf community. The birth of their great-granddaughter led them to Wilson, North Carolina so they could watch her grow up and spend their remaining years together.
A Celebration of her life will be held September 2015 in Palm City, FL.
