Obituary of Rozella Thompson
Rozella Thompson died on Friday, December 13 after living a long and rewarding life of 95 years. She was born in Wake County on February 2, 1918 and lived in Raleigh most of her life. She is remembered for her outgoing personality, her devotion to God, family and church and her beautiful smile. In recent years, she lived at Western N.C. Baptist Retirement Home in Asheville, NC. Rozella was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Eugene Thompson, son Linwood Thompson, great-grandson Timothy Hunter, twin sister, Norvella Mills, sisters, Thelma Stephens and Dorsie Lee, and brother Aaron Stephens.
Survivors include her son , Dr. Mack Thompson (Carol); grandchildren Linwood "Tommy" Thompson (Sue), Todd Thompson (Skye), Claire Dunford (John), and Teresa Hunter; and great-grandchildren Meredith Thompson, Katelyn Thompson,
Mack Dunford and Emily Dunford. Rozella is also survived by brothers
Horace Stephens, Jr., Frank Stephens and a sister, Betsy Gay.
A service of remembrance and thanks will be held 10:30 am Monday, December 16, 2013 at Caraleigh Baptist Church where she was active for many years. Visitation will follow the service. Burial will be private.
