Ruby Carpenter, 89, of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina,  born to the late Charlie and Lora Ballard passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023.  She married the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Carpenter, in 1952 and they adopted their only child, Chris, in 1964. Ruby became a successful Realtor in Nashville Tennessee. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing golf and later a good game of dominoes. Ruby is survived by her son, Chris and wife Carla of North Carolina and grandsons, Emmett and Elliot. In addition to her parents Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and a sister. Ruby struggled with dementia in the closing years of her life.
