Obituary of Rudy Bryant

Rudy O'Neal Bryant, 70, of Raleigh, passed away Sunday morning, November 24, 2013 at Duke Raleigh Hospital.

A Funeral Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 -3:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Born September 25, 1943 in Green Sea, SC, Rudy was the son of the late Earl Bryant and Vera Shelley Bryant. Rudy attended Green Sea High School and Pembroke University. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a recipient of many medals, including the Purple Heart. Rudy was the owner of Level Construction where he worked as a Contractor.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 46 wonderful years, Cheryl Graham Bryant; sons, Rudy O. Bryant, Jr. of Raleigh, and Eric C. Bryant of Leland; daughter, Shelley B. Puryear and husband Stephen of Willow Springs; grandchildren, Stephen, Britny, and Joshua Puryear, Blaine, Trevor, Cheyenne, and Meadow Bryant; siblings, Pat McDaniels, Leota Ward, Emma Jewel Bonds, Elizabeth Davis, Dottie Ford, Sharon Stoner Perry, Warren Earl "Sonny" Bryant, Jimmy Bryant, Carlton Bryant, Glen Bryant; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Rudy to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
