Obituary of Russell Jones

Russell Pleasant Jones, 88, a native of Swift Creek community in Wake County, went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2015. He was born on March 13, 1926 to A.P (Dexter) Jones and Annie Maynard Jones. He worked for many years for Yellow Freight Trucking Company and was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by daughters Mary Jo Franklin and Rebecca Jean Jones, brothers Bryce, Henry and Milton Jones and sister Mary Jones. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eva Warner Jones, daughters Marilyn Jaime (Greg), Susan Lee (Jerry), Amy Jones and son Alan Jones, sister Annie Lee Wester, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, January 9, 2015 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 12:30pm - 2:00pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
