Obituary of Ruth Grooms

Ruth Elizabeth Grooms, 84, of Apex, passed away Wednesday evening, January 16, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Born April 24, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Maggie Ford. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Grooms; and daughter, Charlene Simpson.

She is survived by daughter, Kathy Jacobsen and husband Larry of Apex; granddaughters, Angela Oldham and husband Brian of Apex, Monica O'Brien and husband Kevin of Apex, Rebekah Matthews of Fuquay-Varina, Michelle Nait-Ammou and husband Nait of Apex; grandson, Michael Evans and wife Martha of Fuquay-Varina; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Caleb, Noah, Laurel, Szaffi, Connor, and Avery; sister, Evelyn Brown and husband John of Rockingham.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Ruth to Fellowship Bible Church, 401 South Main Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.

Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to everyone she knew. She loved the Lord and shared her faith with everyone she met.
