Sadie Wheeler Congleton, 74 of Angier passed away peacefully on Saturday May 7th 2016, at Transitions Hospice Home in Raleigh, with her family by her side.
Sadie was born to James and Virgie Wheeler on May 12, 1941. She was united in marriage to Frederick "Bruce" Congleton, whom proceeded her in death. She attended Mitchell's Hair Academy where she earned a cosmetology license. Sadie then opened her own business in Beaufort which she operated for many years before relocating to Angier in 2013. Prior to her move Sadie resided in Beaufort, NC for 21 years. She was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Beaufort.

Sadie loved the Lord and served him in many ways, which included the church choir, teller team, WMU and Meals on Wheels. In addition to her church activities she enjoyed cooking, entertaining, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Sadie is survived by her daughter Sherrie Gregory and husband Marty, sister Hilda(Jerry) Gregory, Brothers: Robert(Nan), Bobby (Peggy), John(Brenda) and Horace Wheeler, sister-in-law, Janet and Shirley Wheeler. A host of nieces, nephews and other family members. Very special caregivers Valarie Ballerich, Michelle Lamm, Marsha Collins and Idonna Baker. Her most loved and cared for feline companion Gracie. Preceded in death by sister, Marilyn Bryant, brothers William, Roy and Floyd Wheeler. Sister-in laws; Lola and Glenda Wheeler. A Memorial Service will be held on May14, 2016 at 2pm First Baptist Church located at 403 Ann Street in Beaufort, NC. In lieu of flowers please consider making a memorial donation in memory of Sadie to Transitions Hospice House as we were so very blessed by the caring staff and beautiful accommodations.
