Obituary of Savon Horton
Mrs. Savon Perry Horton, 91, of Raleigh, died Friday evening, December 23, 2010 at her home.
Graveside Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday in Montlawn Memorial Park.
A native of Zebulon, Savon was born April 24, 1919, the daughter of the late Wilmer and Corrie Horton Perry. She retired from the mail department of Hudson-Belk in downtown Raleigh but her true passion was that of caring for her family, especially her grandson and great grandchildren.
Savon is survived by her daughter, Wanda Horton Phillips; grandson, Rod Phillips and his wife Deborah; two great grandchildren, Jamie Phillips and Anna Phillips, all of Raleigh as well as two sisters, Dorothy Matthews of Raleigh and Evelyn Minor of Cedar Island. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. H. "Red" Horton, three brothers and four sisters.
