Shawn Stewart Larson, 55, died peacefully on Thursday at Transitions LifeCare.
She was a corporate meeting planner for Grifols Pharmaceuticals and prior to that a business travel agent with Maupin Travel.

She grew up in Newington, VA and attended Mary Washington College in Virginia, earned a BA from Fort Hays (KS) State University and pursued an MFA at Tulane University, New Orleans. Shawn was a Carolina Hurricane Season Ticket Holder and proud "Caniac" since 2001. She designed costumes for Theatre In The Park, including A Christmas Carol, and also designed costumes in Virginia, Kansas, and New Orleans. She also previously worked in the costume shop at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, DC.

Shawn loved traveling including visits to Alaska, Hawaii, US Virgin Islands, Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, Mexico and Canada.

Survivors include her husband, Stephen J. Larson; mother, Ethel Frances Stewart of Denver, NC; step-mother, Virginia Stewart of Columbus, GA; step-sons, Eric Larson of Olathe, KS and Seth Larson of Cocoa Beach, FL; brother, Stephen Lee Stewart of Columbus, GA; step-brothers, Ron Gavin of Richmond, VA and Keith Gavin of Columbus, GA.

A celebration of her life will be held 2 pm Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel.
