Sheila Jean Broderick, 76, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away suddenly on December 5, 2024. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Sheila stayed selfless and caring of others to the very end. She strongly valued family and always put others first.
Sheila was born on March 13, 1948 to Roy Clinton Baugh and Ellie Elizabeth Baugh (Alls) of Catawba, Virginia. She was the youngest of four children, Christine, Clinton, Joyce, and Sheila. After high school, Sheila attended Ferrum College and Emory & Henry College in Virginia.
Sheila met Ronald Thomas Broderick at a dance in Marion, Virginia. They married on June 27, 1970, and they were married for 54 years. In 1970, they began their adventures traveling and moving to multiple states and to Germany while Ronald was in the United States Air Force. After the birth of their first child, Sheila chose to be a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, and raising her four sons, Tim, Kevin, Chris, and Rick. After 20 years in the military, the family decided to settle in Cary, North Carolina. Sheila was a loving and caring grandmother to 9 grandchildren, Natalie, Brandon, Lindsay, Vanessa, Collin, Harrison, Weston, Jessica, and Michael.
Sheila was preceded in death by her mother and father Roy and Ellie Baugh; her sisters Christine Poff and Joyce Snyder; and her son Kevin Broderick. She is survived by her husband Ronald Broderick; her brother Clinton Baugh; her sons Tim Broderick (spouse Laura), Chris Broderick (spouse Heather), and Rick Broderick.
Services will be held at Montlawn Funeral Home located at 2911 S Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC on the 13th day of December 2024. There will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m., followed by a chapel service at 11:00 a.m. and a burial on site.
