Obituary of Shelby Eury

Jean Eury, 71 of Raleigh, passed away at her home Wednesday, January 27, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.

The Family will receive friends at Montlawn Funeral Home, 11:00am Monday, February 1, 2010. A funeral service will follow in Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel.

Jean retired with over 25 years of dedicated service the N.C. General Assembly. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Ted Eury; parents, Horace and Zella Williams; brothers, Bill and Dexter.

Jean is lovingly remembered by her sons, Chuck Eury, wife Patricia of Franklinton, NC, Gary Eury, wife Sarah of San Antonio, TX; daughters; Debra E. Houston Tapp, husband Bill of Raleigh, NC, Tina Likens, husband Andy of Clayton, NC, Michelle Peele, husband Chris, of Raleigh, NC; Grandchildren, Chris Houston, Brandon Houston, Heather Tapp, Brian Williams, Kristi Tucker, Jacob Peele, Caitlyn Eury, Nathan Eury; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Leon Williams, Mac Williams, wife Jean of Charlotte, NC; Gloria Poole, Shelby's best friend for over 60 years, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their many thanks to Wake County Hospice and the NC Cancer Hospital.
