IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shelby Ann
Raynor
December 13, 1945 – March 10, 2021
Shelby Ann Raynor 75, loving mother, grandmother (GIGI), sister, and aunt went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 10, 2021 at Westgate Center for Alzheimer's Care in Bangor, Maine. Born on December 13, 1945 in Clinton, North Carolina (Sampson County) to Earl and Mamie Raynor, she was the youngest of three children.
Shelby worked in banking (BB&T) for many years (while raising her children), before joining Campbell University in the business office until her retirement in 2015. Her quiet, sweet, & loving disposition, along with her infectious giggle, left an impact on everyone she came into contact with. She loved her family and children immeasurably, but her grandson Cole was the apple of her eye (who she often referred to as Monkey). Shelby loved her home state of North Carolina from the coast to the mountains, along with being a life-long UNC Tarheel fan. She made many wonderful memories in recent years traveling with family to places such as Alaska, Aruba, California, Florida, France, Italy, Maine, Mexico, New York, Spain, and Washington (Seattle).
Shelby is preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Mamie Raynor; her brother, Dennis Raynor; and her beloved Cocker Spaniel (Jake). She is survived by her son, Kevin D. Blanchard (Michael) of Trenton, ME; daughter, Lori Blanchard Walker (Chad) of Clayton, NC; grandson, Cole Walker of Clayton, NC; sister, Barbara Gray of Clinton, NC; sister-in-law, Barbara Raynor of Fuquay-Varina, NC; nephew, Glenn Raynor of Raleigh, NC; and niece, Karen Bowling of Angier, NC.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Westgate Center for Alzheimer's Care and Kindred Hospice of Bangor, Maine for the loving care provided over the past few months.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh, NC. Visitation will be held immediately preceding the service between 10:00 and 11:00 AM at Montlawn Funeral Home. The family will not be present during visitation.
