After fighting a courageous battle for 5 long years, Shelley got her wings and took her flight on March 8, 2019.  Shelley embodied the grace of an angel and had a love for all things beautiful.  She was known for her infectious smile, quick giggle and kind, compassionate spirit.

Shelley was born on February 7, 1973 in Peoria, Illinois.  She was the first born to mother Cathy (Wisdom) Grant and father Jimmy Grant, both living. She grew up in Peoria, Illinois in a loving family with one brother, Shane. Her parents have been her biggest supporter and Shane her best friend.   Shelley attended Christian Life College in Stockton, California earning an Associates in Music and Biblical Studies. She went on to further earn her Certification in Dental Assisting from Illinois Central College, East Peoria, Illinois.  Shelley was a Dental Assistant II at Lane and Associates, Raleigh, North Carolina.  She has been on several mission trips aiding in dental treatment to third world countries.

Shelley has been a long time member of the Celebration Church, Raleigh, North Carolina.  She has enjoyed singing and acting in dramas.  As a teen Shelley would volunteer at St. Jude Children's Hospital wing, Peoria, Illinois where she would read to the children with cancer, dressed as the beloved character Snow White.  Shelley has always loved animals; her most precious pets provided her with laughter and love over the years; Rocky, Sheena and Haven.

Shelley was preceded in her death by her Grandmothers and one Grandfather.  Shelley is survived by her parents Jimmy & Cathy Grant of Angier, North Carolina; brother J. Shane Grant (Wendy) of Garner, North Carolina; grandfather Rev. H. Dee Wisdom; nieces Natalie & Valerie; nephews Brayden & Bryson; sister-in-law Stephanie Grant of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina;  and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh, North Carolina
