Obituary of Sherron Hampton
Sherron Kay Elliott Hampton, 69 of Apex, NC past away Saturday morning, July 18, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Lubbock, TX and later her family moved to Central New Mexico.
In 1964 Sherron joined the U.S. Navy Waves in Bainbridge, MD. Later she was the only Navy Wave on base in Gulfport, MS where she worked in the dispensary as a medical assistant. She was the S.E. District Commander of the Navy Veterans SeaBees for several years and continued her dedication to the Navy SeaBees throughout her life.
Sherron worked for the Multiple Listing Service in Cary for 27 years. She helped create a small company of 670 to over 6,000 realtors at the time of her retirement.
Sherron would like to thank all the wonderful people that she was able to meet and work with. She also thanks her husband, J.C. for all the love and support during this time. In addition she thanks her children and grandchildren for always being there for her, as well as her daughter-in-law Christie for all your love and support. A special thanks to Kathy and Pearl with Transitions LifeCare for their care and compassion.
She is survived by her husband whom she married August 6, 1965 after joining the U.S. Navy Waves and stationed in Bainbridge, MD, J.C. Hampton of Apex. Sherron is also survived by her mother, Mildred Autrey of New Mexico; sons, Wayne Hampton of Texas, Doug Hampton and wife Christie of Apex; brother, Ronnie Autrey of New Mexico; grandchildren, Jimmy Hampton of Raleigh, and Brandy Hampton of Apex.
