Obituary of Sherwood Jones
Sherwood Edward Jones, 77, died Monday at Rex Hospital. He was the son of Clovis & Claudia Jones. Sherwood was a lifetime and devoted member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, and retired from the NC Dept. of Transportation with over 25 years of service.
Survivors include his wife Eloise Harrison Jones; sons: Harrison & wife Phyllis Jones of Apex, Manley Jones & Rose King of Raleigh; grandsons: Justin Tyler Jones & Margaret Baumeister of Apex, Jay & April Franks of Franklinton, Stephen, Brian & Greg Harrison of Raleigh, great-granddaughter Brooklyn Skye Franks; sisters: Mary Lee King of Raleigh, Carrie Anne Gilbert and Lois Dean of Garner.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM at Montlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
