Shirley Marie Cannady Tant, 69, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, March 14, 2011.

Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Darren Talley.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday night.

Shirley is survived by her loving and caring husband of 45 years, Phillip A. Tant, son, Craig Tant and wife, Vicky of Raleigh; daughter, Angie T. Linton, and husband, Robert of Cary; grandchildren, Cameron Poole and fianc?', Brooke Owens of Knightdale, Matthew Poole and girlfriend, Brittany Blankenship of Raleigh, and Jadyn Linton of Cary; siblings, Beulah Staton of Raleigh, Margaret Barnes of White Lake, and Donnie Cannady of Stedman; step-granddaughters, Ashlee Coon and Linnea Coon; grand puppies, Sophie, Mojoe, Kayla, Dixie and Ally.

Shirley will always be remembered for being a loving and devoted wife, great mother, and amazing "mema". She was always willing to help others with no regard to how she may have been feeling. She enjoyed creating special wedding cakes for friends and family. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Gateway Church, P.O. Box 846, Fuquay-Varina, N.C. 27526.
