Obituary of Shirley Page

Shirley Ann Messer Page, 74, of Raleigh, passed away Thursday morning, October 20, 2011 at Hospice of Wake County, surrounded by her family.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service.

Born March 31, 1937 in Wake County, NC, Shirley was the daughter of the late Burke C. Messer and Annie Stancil Messer Creech. In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Speight; and brothers, B.C., Thomas, Hoover, and David Messer.

Shirley is survived by her son, William "Fred" Page, Jr.; sisters, Becky Wells and husband Jim, and Fay Stephenson; her loving cat, Precious; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was a part of the last graduating class from Hugh Morson High School in Raleigh before closing its doors for the last time in 1955, and later employed by the North Carolina State/Government for 35 years. She was a loving mother and sister and will be greatly missed by her family.
