Stephen Oliver Joyner, 77, of Raleigh, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his home. He was born May 23, 1945 in Norfolk County, Virginia, a son of the late Oliver and Edna (Harper) Joyner.

Stephen was an Electrician. He retired from Wake County Public School Systems as well as the Army National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, reading western themed books, movies, spending time with family (especially the time spent with his grandchildren), food, animals and nature. Stephen had a great sense of humor and loved jokes. He always enjoyed playing card games as well. Stephen will be remembered for being a sweet, gentle, caring man who was loved by all who knew him.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Margie Cliborne Joyner, his children: Beth Joyner Kirkman, and her husband, George Kevin Kirkman, and Christopher Lynne Joyner; and his grandchildren: Grant Kirkman and Nora Kirkman.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Montlawn Funeral and Cremation Services, Raleigh.
