Obituary of Steve Spence

Steve Carson Spence, 61, of Fuquay-Varina, died Wednesday afternoon, January 13, 2010 at Rex Hospital.

A Celebration of Steve's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park with Military Honors followed by a private inurnment. The family will receive friends following the service Saturday afternoon.

A native of Wake County, Steve was the son of the late Carson Freeman Spence and Bessie Dean Spence. He was retired as a refrigeration technician with the Wake County School System, was a member of the Fuquay Lodge #258 A.F. & A.M. and served in the elite branch of the United States Naval Seals during the Vietnam War from 1967 - 1971.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Wiley Spence and sister, June Brown. He is survived by three sisters and several nieces and nephews.
