Obituary of Sue Gay

Sue B. Gay, 86, of died Saturday, December 31, 2011 in her home.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2011 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday.

She was a graduate of The Dorothea Dix School of Nursing Class of 1946. She was one of the 190 graduate nurses who passed the examination given by the NC Board of Nurse examiners.

Sue started her career in nursing at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, NC doing private duty nursing. She retired from Dorothea Dix Hospital, Raleigh, NC in 1991. She was a long-time member of South Hills Baptist Church.

Sue is survived by her son, Mike Gay, Sr.; grandson, Mike Gay and his wife Lisa; three great-grandchildren, Amber, Christopher, and Bryson Gay.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Pam Stanley, Doris Arrowood, Louis Allen, Tyler Veasey, and Maggie Green for their loving and devoted care. They would also like to extend a thank you, to Vicky with Liberty Hospice.
