Theresa Lee Owens

Ms. Theresa Lee Burgess Owens, 58, of Clayton, died Sunday, February 8, 2009, at her home.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2009 Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Montlawn Funeral Home . Interment in Montlawn Memorial Park will follow.

Theresa was born in Washington D.C., on August 12, 1950, to Ward M. and the late Mary Catherine Campbell Burgess. She was a devoted mother to her daughters Nicole and Ashley, and will be greatly missed. Theresa also loved to spend time in her garden and was a member of the Orchid Society, where she devoted her time to her second love, orchids.

Theresa is survived by two daughters Nicole Suzanne Cole and husband Dave, of Seattle, WA, and Ashley Theresa Meyer and husband Tyson, of Blaine, WA; grandson Liam Richard Meyer; parents Ward M. Burgess, II and step mother Emma H. Burgess; brother Ward M. Burgess, III and wife Debra; sister Suzanne H. Burgess; step sisters Catherine Godfrey and Vera Schiaffo; niece Christina Heffel; and nephews Matthew Timothy and David McClelland Burgess. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Catherine Campbell Burgess, brother Stephen Patrick Burgess, and son Brian Owens.
