IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas G.
Belvin
February 10, 1938 – April 24, 2020
GARNER
Thomas G. Belvin, 82, of Garner passed away on April 24, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Egbert Glenn Belvin and Ellen Nora Ragan; brother, Robert and Sister Mary.
Thomas joined the Air Force in January, 1958 -February 1963. He maintained his small aircraft pilot license and certified mechanic until November, 2007 by the FAA. He was a life member of the NRA and an avid marksman, hunter and gun enthusiast. His favorite holiday was Memorial Day.
His career consisted of mechanics and machinery until he was physically unable to work with heavy equipment. He was quite the adventurer never sat around always tinkering, hunting with whoever showed interest. He was not a perfect father figure but then again what do we define as perfect. Most of us in the family were taught life skills that we will cherish and pass on to our children and grandchildren for years to come. He loved his children, step children, grandchildren, great grandchildren not to mention any family pet he ever met the best he knew how.
He was married to Mary Magdalene Young from April, 1961 until roughly 1970. He met her when stationed in Newfoundland, Canada. Some of us proudly have dual citizenship. Together they had 6 children, Thomasene, Johnny, Mark (deceased), Sheila ,Elaine and Judy; step children Gerard and Charles; Grandchildren, Teddy ,Chad (deceased), Lawrence, Steven, Cody, Nina, Amy, Candace, Samantha, Jessica, Josh(deceased), Heather, John, Jacob, Jesse, Ashley, Hunter and Patricia; great grandchildren, Kaydence, Gavin, Kailyn and Grant; niece, Betsy and her children Wesley and Ian and nephew Robert.
Thomas married Betty Lynwood White on September, 1971 until present. They shared three step children Norman (deceased), Eric (deceased), Beth; grandchildren from Beth, Brandon (deceased), Sara and Bonnie and great-grandchildren, Amber, Lillie, Kalel and Tessa.
