Obituary of Thomas Setzer

Thomas Vance Setzer, 89, died Thursday evening at Morningside Assisted Living where he had resided for 1 ½ years. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University and served in the US Navy during WW II and the Korean War. Tom was retired as the manager of the NCSU Student Bookstore after 30 years of service and was also a member of Fairmont United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two sisters, Louise Coley and Hazel Smith as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

His wife, Emily Eller Setzer preceded him in death in October 1998. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Logan Tate Setzer and Estelle Allen Setzer; sisters, Frances Sue Setzer and Nanci Quenelle; brothers, John C. Setzer, Tate Setzer and Kenneth Setzer.

Funeral services will be held 3 pm Monday, August 26, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
