Timothy Earl Porter Sr. was born May 19, 1970, in Rocky Mount North Carolina to Earl and Victoria Highsmith Porter.  He completed his early education in Enfield, NC.  Enfield and the congregation there remained close to his heart no matter where he was.  When the family moved to Garner, NC they began to develop great, long -lasting friendships with local congregations.  Those bonds played an important part in TIm's spiritual growth  Throughout Tim's middle school and high school years, he loved helping with Kingdom Hall Construction Projects across the state, especially working in the roofing and electrical departments.  He graduated from Garner Senior High School in 1988.  He attended Wake Tech Community College and ECPI for computer training which led to his working with IBM for several years.

Tim's spiritual upbringing led him to have a strong desire to serve Jehovah and he showed this when he made a public declaration symbolized by water baptism on April 1, 1989.  Shortly thereafter, at a Convention for Jehovah Witnesses, Tim met Pamela Jacobs whom he would marry in 1992 and together they would have two beautiful children, Timothy Earl Jr, and Brianna Danielle.
After a few job changes, Tim landed his dream job of becoming a long-distance truck driver.  He did so until his health began to fail.  Tim developed wonderful relationships with many people throughout his life because of his dry sense of humor and his "gift of gab".
Timothy Earl Porter Sr. is survived by son, Timothy Earl Porter Jr. of Garner, NC; his daughter, Brianna Danielle Porter-Gales (Joseph) of Selma, NC;  His parents, Earl and Victoria Porter of Fuquay Varina, NC; his brother, Titus Porter (Tanisha) of Sanford NC; his sister Tiffany McLean (Jonathan) of Angier, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  Tim was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elijah and Hattie Porter and maternal grandparents C.L. and Viola Highsmith.
