Travis Gerald Wunderlich, 82, departed this life February 8, 2016, to be with his Lord and many loved ones and friends who have gone on before him. Travis was born in Fayetteville, Texas on September 14, 1933 to the late Hugo and Gladys Wunderlich. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vera Alford Wunderlich; a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Don Finley; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Michael and Vicki Wunderlich; four grandchildren: Aubri Geurin, Emily Burke, Tiffany Baker, and Travis Robert Wunderlich; a nephew, Robert Wunderlich Partin; and four great-grandchildren.
Travis graduated from Texas A&M University in 1955 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Post graduation he entered the United States Air Force where he excelled as a pilot. After an honorable discharge from the Air Force, he worked in the Oil Production and Chemical Industries field for 40 years as a Civil Engineer.
Travis was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Pasadena, Texas for over 20 years, where he served as an elder. After retirement, he was a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ in Huntsville, Texas.
Travis will be greatly missed by his family and friends. After a valiant struggle with complication from an Anoxic Brain Injury spanning 17 years, we are all rejoicing that he is now in the arms of God and all his pain and suffering have been taken away. He can say along with the Apostle Paul, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith, therefore there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness."
