Obituary of Vickie Johnson

Vickie Rachael Johnson of Raleigh passed away Thursday evening, March 26, 2015 at Transitions LifeCare after a battle with cancer.

Born October 2, 1954 in Fayetteville, NC, she was the daughter of the late

Roy Lee and Marguerite Best Johnson. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Roy Lee Johnson Jr.

Vickie is survived by her son, Matthew Lee Johnson and fianc Casandra Eatz "Andie" of the home; sister, Bonnie Watkins and husband Bruce of Reno, NV; brother, Jack Johnson and wife Suzanne of Gibsonville, NC; Grandchildren; nieces, Allison Parker and husband Ricky of Whitsett, NC; Abigail and Sarah Johnson of Gibsonville, NC; Chelsea Cropper of San Francisco, CA; great-niece, Zoie Parker of Whitsett, NC; great-nephew, Brantley Parker of Whitsett, NC; Special Friend of 55 years, Sandra Ward; numerous cousins and friends.

After 25 years, Vickie retired from the Wake County School System and was employed by American Anesthesiology. She was a member of Potters Hands Bible Church. She loved the beach and animals.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Potters Hands Bible Church, 3468 Apex Parkway, Apex. A Celebration of Vickie's Life will follow at 7 p.m.

The family appreciates the support of church members and friends over the last nine months.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Vickie to Hospice of Wake County or SPCA of Wake County.
