Obituary of Victor Derosier Jr.
Victor J.(Butch) Derosier Jr, age 65, passed away on Monday, March 9th, 2015 at WakeMed in Raleigh, North Carolina due to Diabetes and Coronary Artery Disease. He was the son of the late Maureen and Victor J. Derosier.
Butch was born in Bay City, MI on July 25th, 1949. He was an altar boy, co-captain of his high school football team, a General Contractor who helped build Epcot and a tri-athlete in Orlando, FL. Butch was a husband of 28 years and supportive, loving father.
He was a lifelong member of the YMCA, provided leadership in the Boy Scouts of America (Troop 31 of Cary) and supported the Autism Society of North Carolina. Butch enjoyed people, reading, football, hunting, dogs, television, food and his van. He led a strong, spiritual life and tried to set a good example.
He moved to Orlando Florida in the early 80's and then to Raleigh, North Carolina in the late 90's. He graduated from West Catholic Central High in 1967 and Michigan State University in 1972.
Butch was pre-deceased by his parents as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, John & Barb Hemli. Butch is survived by his wife, Dianne, and two sons, Nicholas Derosier (27) and Edward Derosier (25), and one daughter, Cate (Jason) O'Connor. He is also survived by five sisters, Mary (Bob) Welskop. Sue (Rick) Westgate, Carol (Ed), Pasant, Connie (Robin) Sich, and Sandy (Fred) Ulman and one brother, Bill Derosier of Raleigh, N.C. as well as many nieces and nephews.
Per the wishes of the family, Mr. Derosier will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at Montlawn Funeral Home in Raleigh North Carolina on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 6 p.m. A local memorial service will take place in Michigan at a later date.
