Obituary of Virginia Holliday

Virginia Moore Holliday, 89, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at her residence. She was a native of Harnett County and the daughter of Nettie Messer and Major M. Moore. She was a member of BPO Does in Raleigh for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

Surviving are her son, Robert Holliday, Jr. of Franklinton; two daughters, Gay Ratley of Bunnlevel and Kay Knight of Angier; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Robert C. Holliday and a brother, Roy Moore.

The family will receive friends at Montlawn Funeral Home from 2-3 pm Saturday prior to the funeral service.
