Virginia F. Jordan, 89, of Raleigh, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 17, 2021. Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 PM, July 20 at Montlawn Funeral Home, S. Wilmington St., Raleigh. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 PM at Montlawn Funeral Home on Tuesday before the service.
A native of South Carolina, Virginia was the daughter of Henry B. Freeman and Flossie R. Freeman. Virginia was the wife, for 58 years, of the late Andrew Jackson "Andy" Jordan. The two were members of the Discussion Sunday School class at New Hope Baptist Church in Raleigh and attended services. Virginia continued her faith and friendships at New Hope.
After numerous years of working in business with Andy, combined with caring for her family, and to keep her time occupied, Virginia accepted employment with Hayes Barton Pharmacy at Five Points. The pharmacy personnel soon became her extended family, and she cherished friendships with the numerous people she met there through the years.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Dena Jordan Brown of Raleigh and Cynthia Jordan Layton of Fuquay-Varina; 3 grandchildren, Michael Brandon Layton, Courtney Layton Smith and Derick Arthur Dail; 3 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC. Flowers are accepted. Memorials may be made to Liberty Hospice, 3134 Wendell Blvd., Wendell, NC 27591. Condolences may be made at www.montlawn.com
