Obituary of Virginia Willis

Virginia Jones Willis, 86, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Oaks of Carolina in Raleigh.

Family will receive friends at Montlawn Funeral Home Tuesday, May 18th from 6-8pm. Graveside service will be held in Montlawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, May 19th at 11:00am.

Virginia was born to Clyde and Miriam Jones on June 10, 1923 in Holland, VA. She worked at Bank of Rocky Mount with over 20 years of service and then at Benvenue Animal Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC for 13 years. After retiring, Virginia enjoyed traveling, shopping, reading, playing Bridge and Bunco, tending to her flower garden, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Odis James Willis; daughters, Nancy and Judy Willis of Raleigh; sister-in-laws, Hertha Willis and Peggie Jones; nieces and nephews; her faithful furry grandchildren, Bailey, Gabby, Vinnie and Pepper. Virginia is preceded in death by her brothers, David Jones and Ernest Jones; sisters, Margaret Sibel and Genieve Jones.

Virginia was loved by everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
