Obituary of Walter Larry Williams

Walter Larry "Butch" Williams, 67, of Raleigh, died Tuesday morning, June 22, 2010 at Rex Healthcare.

Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

A native of Raleigh, Butch was born January 17, 1943, the son of the late William and Clara Dupree Williams. He was a retired auto mechanic and enjoyed his time as a vendor at the Brightleaf Flea Market in Smithfield. Butch served his country in the United States Army and especially loved his faithful canine companion "Jack".

Butch is survived by his sisters, Connie Wrenn of Garner, Mary Sue Taylor and her husband Herman "Smut" Taylor of Raleigh and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his very special friends, Jerry and Phyllis Coats of Clayton who provided so much love and care for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Griffin Williams five months ago.
