Walter Paul "BUTCH"  Mazurick of Fuquay-Varina passed away at the age of 81 on February 25 with his family by his side.

He was born in Scranton, PA on September 29,1940 to the late Walter Mazurick and Margret Shimko.  He is also preceded in death by his brother Thomas and his 4 furry pets Buffy, Lucky, Baron and Corky

Walter proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 33 years as a Tech Sargent and was a Glen Cove Police officer for 26 years. Walter worked for the United States Post Office and was an active member of the Elks Club.  Walter was an active man who had many hobbies that included his love for Tennis along with wood working, trains, skiing and running in marathons.

His survived by his loving wife of 60 years Carol, daughters; Kathy (Phil) and Denise, Sons; Walter (Jenny) and Michael, his brother Leonard and his 3 grandchildren Carol Ann, Michelle, Ellie Brooke.

Walter will be missed and remembered for his great sense of humor, his dirty jokes and teasing anyone he could to make them laugh.

The family will receive friends Wednesday March 9, 2022, from 11-12:00 p.m. at Montlawn Funeral Home; Graveside services will follow the visitation in Montlawn Memorial Park where Military honors will be performed.
