Obituary of Wayne Sullivan

Wayne George Sullivan, 63, of Raleigh, died Tuesday afternoon, December 1, 2009 at Rex Hospital.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.

Wayne was retired as a diesel mechanic with Waste Industries and was a member of Layden Memorial United Methodist Church. He owned and restored vintage cars and tractors, loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and his twin brother, Wade.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Jean Byerly Sullivan; daughter, Leah Sullivan Wooten and her husband Jay; grandchildren, Abigail Susannah, Isabel Juliet and Duncan Sullivan Wooten, all of Rocky Mount; brothers John Sullivan of Garner, Wade Sullivan of Selma, David Sullivan of Jodie, WV,; sisters, Linda Horton of New Hill, Rita Ellington of Clayton as well as several nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Davis of Lucama.
