Obituary of Wilbert Burton

Wilbert Burton, Sr., 68, died suddenly Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Wake Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Friday, March 19, 2010 in the Chapel at Montlawn Funeral Home. Services will also be held at Montlawn on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 3pm with interment at Montlawn Memorial Park following the service.

Wilbert was born January 31, 1942 to Odell Hockaday Burton and the late Detroit Burton. Wilbert owned and operated Burton's Janitorial Service and was employed with St. David's School for 14 years. The family would like to extend special thanks to Head Master, Kevin Lockerbie, staff , students and parents of St. David's School; Cancer Centers of North Carolina (Macon Pond Road); and Dr. Lakey of Wake Medical Center of Raleigh.

Wilbert is survived by his loving wife, Jessie Peppers Burton; children, W. Michelle Burton Pollock (Gregory) of Raleigh, Wallanda B. Montague (David) of Wake Forest, Will Burton, Jr. (Kim) of Raleigh, Alicia F. Murray (Gary ) of Raleigh, Wendy Burton-Fogg of Raleigh; grandchildren, Eric X. Forte, Devin E. Montague, Alexia D. Montague, Kia A. Smith, Ebony L. Murray, Justin B. Fogg, Kameron J. Burton; His identical twin brother William Burton( Marilyn) other siblings: Lucille Dunn, Bettie Jean Pulley, Pamella Burton, Ralph Burton and Donnell Burton along with a host of nieces and nephews.
