Obituary of William Tice

William Ellsworth Baxter Tice, Jr., of Raleigh died June 8, 2013 at Rex Hospital surrounded by family.

Bill was born February 21, 1934 in Middletown, NY and raised by William Ellsworth Baxter Tice, Sr. and Evelyn Appley Tice. He married his wife Marion Seeley Tice on August 13, 1958 at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base in SC.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his daughters; Deborah Ann Meares and husband Aaron, Patricia Lynn Tice, Mary Tice Ibarra and husband Manuel; grandchildren, Niki and Patrick Simons, Arabela Selena Ibarra, William Reeves Joaquin Ibarra, and Sarah Makenna" Tice; great-grandchildren, Hanna Page Simons, Tyler-Scott Baxter Simons, Austin Nathan Simons; sister, Barbara Babcock of SC; and extended family in Middletown, NY that would include lots of cousins.

William, known to all as Bill, joined the Navy in 1952 then joined the Air Force after 4 years and served in all 20 years before retiring in 1972. Bill began working for Rex Hospital in 1974 and retired as Plant Engineer in 1995. He enjoyed the rest of his life with family and friends in Raleigh, NC. Bill was always helping others and teasing his grandkids about "Putamorus" - the man in the moon! We will all continue to love and miss him.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will received friends at the funeral home, 6-8 p.m., Thursday evening, June 13, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home

In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Bill can be sent to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, 24 Stokes Road, Bethesda, MD 20814-5002.
